KEN PREGNANCY TERMINATION SERVICES
A SERVICE THAT MEETS YOUR DEMAND

WE ARE AT YOUR SERVICE

It's a non-surgical way to end a pregnancy by taking medications. Unlike a surgical procedure, a medical termination usually is done without entering the uterus.
Two medications are used to complete a medical termination. This works by blocking the hormone progesterone, which is necessary to sustain pregnancy. Without this hormone, the lining of the uterus breaks down, the cervix (opening of the uterus or womb) softens, and bleeding begins. This medication method ends the pregnancy within a day.
Most women describe the process as a very heavy period with a lot of cramping. This, however, varies greatly among patients depending on the gestational age of the pregnancy and their previous obstetrical experiences. You will have a full consultation with the expert and one of our counselors concerning this at the time of your visit.
Emergency contraception, also known as the morning after pill or Plan B, is a series of hormonal pills taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse, sexual assault or inadequately protected intercourse. It is meant only as a back-up method of birth control to be used on an emergency basis. In fact, before a patient takes the morning after pills, a pregnancy test must be done to make sure that the patient has not conceived. If taken after conception, the pills will not work. Overall, the morning after pill is 85% effective if taken properly to prevent pregnancy. The morning after pill is not used for terminaton. It is important to remember that emergency contraceptive is not a substitute for routine birth control and it does not protect you from HIV infection (the virus that causes AIDS) or any other sexually transmitted disease (STD).
Are you suffering from heavy menstrual periods? Ask me about the potential 90 Second Treatment. If you are experiencing heavy menstrual periods that are keeping you away from enjoining your life to the fullest, you should know about the 90-second treatment called Endometrial Ablation. Endometrial Ablation is a minimal invasive option that is safe and simple. This procedure has been proven to help control heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) without any need of hormones or a hysterectomy. The procedure can be performed in an office visit or outpatient setting, and generally takes less than 5 minutes. In addition the procedure can be performed under general anesthesia and does not require a hospital stay.
Recovery is fast and most women can usually return to their normal activities by the next day. After the procedure, most women experience moderate cramping, which can be managed with over the counter pain relievers. You might also see vaginal bleeding or light spotting, changing to a pinkish watery discharge that may last for several weeks. The discharge is a normal part of the healing process. The first-operative check-up usually occurs within two weeks after the procedure, and sexual activity can resume after the check up visit. Your first few weeks after the procedure may continue to be heavy, with improvement thereafter. Does it Work? Ninety-three percent of the patients treated are still happy with their results after five years of the treatment and 99% will recommend the procedure to a friend or a relative.
